Schedule of Events for  2024

Throughout the Summer: 
  • Informational booth at various venues including the Long Lake Farmers' Market and the August Craft Fair.
  • Postings on bulletin boards at the NYSDEC Boat Launch and the CVW Long Lake Library.
  • Fishing Line Recycling in collaboration with the ADK Center for Loon Conservation.  Recycling containers located at the NYSDEC Boat Launch and other popular fishing sites.
Ice Harvesting Program presented by the LLA to the K-6 Youth Program as part of the Adirondack Local Culture program at Mt Sabattis Recreation Area:  Thursday, Feb. 29th at 2:30 PM

Ice Harvesting Program presented by Tom Whiney of the LLA to Long Lake Historical Society:  Monday, March 24th at 5 PM at the Town Hall.

​CVW Long Lake Public Library Showcase for Local  Nonprofits to Celebrate the Eclipse:  Saturday, April 6th from 12-2 PM.  The LLA will be there!

Long Lake Community Pride Day, May 1st:  Join the LLA, your neighbors, and other community groups to help with a Town wide Spring Cleaning (Contact events#mylonglake.com for more information)

Presentation by ADK Watershed Institute on the Lake Steward Program:  Wednesday, May 8th at 12:30 PM at the CVW Long Lake Public Library.

Lake Stewards at Long Lake DEC Boat Launch and Boat Wash Station at the Long Lake Municipal Parking Lot:
Memorial Day through Columbus Day.  7 AM to 4 PM and earlier for special events

NYS Safe Boating Course:  Registration required

Annual Loon Count:
Saturday, July 20th , 8 to 9 AM.  Meet for breakfast after Loon Count at Deb and Ed Traynor's. (Contact Joan Collins at  [email protected]  to volunteer)

Long Lake Aquatic Invasive Plant Survey by Adirondack Research, LLC:  New baseline survey to be conducted  in July. 

Long Live Long Lake Fundraiser with Celebrity Guest Bartender, "Johnnu Seils" at the ADK Hotel:  Thursday, July 18th from  5-7PM ​- 
All tips to benefit the Long Lake Association.  LLA T-Shirts available for purchase.

Long Lake Association Annual Get-Together and Annual Meeting: 
 Friday, August 9th at ADK Hotel from 4-6 PM.  Guest speaker  at 4:15 PM, - Dr. Nina Schoch, Executive Director of the ADK Center for Loon Conservation.   Light hors d'oeuvres and cash bar.

Adirondack Canoe Classic 90-Miler, sponsored by the Northern Forest Canoe Trail:  Saturday, September 7, 2024.  The LLA will provide volunteers with boats to provide safety along the Long Lake route.  (Contact Barbara Taylor at bftaylor653@gmail to volunteer) 

Northern Forest Canoe Trail Regatta:  Saturday, September 21st:  Race starts at 11 AM.  LLA volunteers help along the course.

7th Annual Crew Races between St. Lawrence University and Union College, AKA Great ADK Boat Race:
Sunday, May 12th at 11 AM at the Long Lake Town Beach
Join the Men's & Women's Rowing Teams from St. Lawrence University vs Union College in the final race of the season as they compete for the Adirondack Cup.  Alums, visitors and members of the public are welcome to come out and cheer for their favorite team.  Race time subject to change due to weather conditions.
