Schedule of Events for  2026

The mission of the Long Lake Association (LLA) is to preserve and enhance the health and beauty of the lake, and to promote its wise use for the benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations.

​Throughout the Summer: 
  • The LLA informational booth may pop-up at various Long Lake venues such as the Long Lake Farmers' Market, Music on the Beach and Craft Fairs.

Lake Stewards at Long Lake DEC Boat Launch:
  • Memorial Day through Columbus Day, 7 AM to 4 PM daily
  • In collaboration with the ADK Center for Loon Conservation, help protect our lake wildlife by utilizing the Fishing Line Recycling containers at the NYS Boat Launches on Long Lake, Lake Eaton and Forked Lake.
Boat Wash Station at the Long Lake Municipal Parking Lot:
  • Memorial Day through Columbus Day. See boat Stewards for operating hours

NYS Safe Boating Course: 
  • Effective January 1, 2025... Boating Safety Certificates are required for all motorized vessel operators, regardless of age. Safety courses must be approved by National Association of State​ Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA).

  • The LLA is sponsoring an in-person Boater Safety Course:
          Saturday, June 6th from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM at the Long Lake Town Hall

Annual Loon Census:         Saturday, July 18th, 8:00 to 9:00 AM.  Boaters will monitor loon population on Long Lake.

  • Breakfast for census participants is planned following the census

Long Lake Association Annual Meeting:  
  • Friday, August 14th , 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Adirondack Hotel
  • Featuring guest speaker Matt Burdett, owner of Matt Burdett Guiding
  • Light hors d'oeuvres and cash bar.

Adirondack Canoe Classic 90-Miler, sponsored by the Northern Forest Canoe Trail: 
  • Saturday, September 12th 
  • The LLA needs volunteers with boats to provide "safety" services along the Long Lake route.
